COVID Precautions

The TFSIA Board of Directors has been working hard in conjunction with the team at Embassy Suites to address concerns about COVID to the greatest extent possible.

What are some of the precautions you'll see?
1. Face coverings/masks must be worn in class and in public areas of the hotel and conference center except when eating or drinking.

2. Conference check-in/registration will be staggered with time slots assigned by last name.  This will reduce the number of people crowding into the hallways and registration area at a single time.

3. Temperature scanning will be done daily before classes.  A sticker will be provided for attendee name tags for admittance into classrooms.  You will not be allowed into a class without the sticker on your name tag.  Individuals who are identified as having an elevated temperature (above 100.4F) will be asked to return to their hotel room or leave the conference center for the safety of everyone.

4. If you experience symptoms related to COVID during the conference, do not dismiss or minimize the potential risk to you and your colleagues.  We ask those experiencing symptoms to remain in their hotel room or stay home for the day.  You can review the CDC's guidelines of symptoms here:  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html.  Returning to the conference will be on a case-by-case basis.

5. Classroom locations and class sizes will be different from previous years.  This is done to comply with maximum occupant loads under COVID guidelines and ensure attendees are spaced apart during classes.

What are some precautions you may not see?
1. The hotel and conference center staff will be regularly cleaning and disinfecting classrooms  between sessions.  Close attention will also be paid to public/common areas.

2. Breakfast and the afternoon Manager's Reception will have a different look for precautions.
